Alif's counselling courses are open to anyone interested in counselling and personal development. Our courses are aimed at individuals who are at different stages and levels with their knowledge of mainstream counselling and Islamic studies.

The Need

In a time in history where mental health and social issues has never been so prominent. as a result of changes in a human beings’ lifestyle, conduct, environment, it has subsequently led to the ascent of sporadic and volatile internal and external state; Islamic Counselling has thus arguably never been more important.

Diploma In Islamic Counselling

Alif's counselling courses are open to anyone interested in counselling and personal development. Our courses are aimed at individuals who are at different stages and levels with their knowledge of mainstream counselling and Islamic studies.

Who can become an accredited counsellor with Alif Institute?

Clergy, psychologists, professionals, individuals looking to change careers and individuals who may simply want to strengthen the family nuclei, can all enroll into our courses which are tailored and considerate of people’s different levels of knowledge and experience. Individuals do not have to be full-time psychologists to become Islamic Counsellors – individuals can be can be a doctor, baker, engineer, imam, teacher and so forth.

Newcomers

Alif Institute aims to promote and encourage anyone with an interest in counselling to become an Islamic Counsellor - irrespective of an individual's background.

Imams & Shariah Graduates

Individuals who have studied Islam and/or those Muslim scholars in a position of authority and leadership e.g. mosques, universities and other institutes.

Mainstream Qualified Counsellors

Muslim and non-Muslim Counsellors who are qualified in mainstream counselling can sign up to Alif Institute's 1 year part-time Islamic Counselling LIPC conversion programme.

Qualified Counsellor with Islamic Studies

Individuals who have Islamic studies knowledge and are qualified counsellors can fast-track their studies and become LIPC accredited Islamic Counsellors.

Level 1

One weekend class consisting of modules on the theory of Islamic counselling. Upon completion, individuals will receive a certificate of attendance on Islamic Counselling theory.

Level 2

A 6-month, structured course aimed at providing students with an understanding of key Islamic counselling skills and theories.

The penultimate level individuals must complete in order to become an accredited Islamic Counsellor.   Upon completion, individuals will be certified in Counselling skills.

A 1-year part-time course for mainstream qualified counsellors to become accredited Licensed Islamic Professional Counsellors (LIPC).
